Very nice

What are you using to obtain your sounds?

atmos929NG responds:

Several synths to tell the truth, it's pretty crowded in there XD... if you pay attention you may identify around 10 different synths between pads, drones, leads etc...

You might want to consider a few things.

A few things. You seem to know your trance 'sounds' quite well however, I highly suggest you take a music theory class before you continue writing pieces. It takes a lot of practice and A LOT of musical training. I myself am a professional musician but, it's taken me 14 years to get to that point. Start with an instrument and learn how to play it before you put in chords to FL Studio (a mediocre production software).

Trancesorcerer responds:

Well this is my very first song and it is quite boring i hear ya.I dont think it deservs a 0,more of a 5.But,its your opnion.I will get better though.

Very predictable and too random

This is a very predictable and random tune. Also, it is very evident that you used FL Studio to some extent (as the very opening is a Sytrus preset). I would try using some of your own created instruments and sequences as opposed to preset ones. Otherwise your stuff sounds exactly like everyone elses stuff.

EQ Problems

The EQ of this music is very poor quality. Your bass has no bass tones. I suggest you look carefully at how to properly mix. While your theory is correct, I do hope this sound is not put into any video game as it currently stands.

Although I strongly disagree with this opinion, I'll keep this in mind and figure out a way to make it sound better.

The melody

Your melody is far too disjunct and the melody at around 00:54 sounds like its off tempo. It is very hard for the ear to follow along with the harmony you have written. Keep in mind FL Studio, while it can assist in making music, does not train your ear for you. Listen to LOTS of music the next time you decide to work on a project.

wow.. well.. thanx for the review..

A few suggestions

This piece of music doesn't know quite where to go. Even in music that is supposed to go on forever, it's supposed to have direction. You have a basic rhythm and decent sounds but, what really turns me off is the random electric glissando at 2:09. It grinds too much with the staccato sounds you originally used. Also, it sounds like you used the Sytrus arpegiator in FL studio for your background. You might have been better off custom creating an arpegiation so that it would have worked better with that glissando instrument.

A little bit of criticism

I tend to have a problem with music not sounding organic enough. You have a nice concept of harmony but, there is no 'melody' of the wind that I can discern. There are no dynamic changes in the piece either (a staple of a quality piece). There is maybe a little bit of a Rossini crescendo at the end but, that is it. (A Rossini Crescendo is the layring of music to give the illusion of an actual crescendo, a favorite technique of mine.)

I suggest you take these comments and use them to make better music.

Ryukenjin responds:

My main focus in this song was to give the feeling of how the wind should be described song wise. It can be the same most of the time, have slight changes to it, unpredictable, then fierce, and can go back to normal. I have no "music" experience really other than 6th grade band. All music talk I don't really understand, but it doesn't take knowing music lingo to make good music. I try the best I can with what knowledge I have or gain. You can hear progression in my old stuff compared to new.

As for the things you said, I have no idea what you are talking about, so I can't do anything about it. Sorry, but voicing your opinion is 1 thing that you can do on the internet, so thanks for the review.... I think.

A comment

This sounds technically fine however, the mixing is so completely distorted it is very unattractive. Turn down the volume! the last thing you need is music not being mixed at below 0db.
